“I think it’s important to recognize that everyone has had different experiences during the Covid pandemic this year. I’m grateful that my family is healthy, and I recently let go of the anxiety and stress of missing out on furthering my career, when I realized that the two years since our daughter was born have been the fastest and best of our lives.
And still, it has been frustrating juggling and prioritizing childcare, work, and personal time. My available time to work as an artist has been cut to probably 1/6 of what it was pre-pandemic. I don’t want to be an example in the growing number of articles I read about how female parent’s careers are taking a greater hit than our male counterparts. But I might be.
Somehow I arrived at adulthood thinking I didn’t need any help, and not knowing how to ask for it. Now, I believe full-heartedly on the empowerment that comes with asking for help, and having the dedicated support of professionals to coach you through it. One to One is doing an amazing job giving free coaching to women who might not have access to it otherwise. It’s an easy organization to advocate for, with the great work that they are doing.”
